Just your standard bull

I’m sure you are like me in that you get these emails advertisements from various airlines (particularly one stationed out of Dallas Love Field) about all of these cheap fares available to you if you book right now! Well, I like a good deal as much as the next guy. And I do, do a fair amount of flying in the spring and fall of each year going to work sales.

The problem is, when I go online to book my flights, they are NEVER at the cheaper rates! Not anywhere close to the rates you see in the ads. It’s almost like they see me coming….

I’m told now that when you log in regularly from your browser, that they actually do see you coming! I had another friend suggest that if you search on your phone or iPad, use the private browsing feature, find the flight and price you are looking for, then log into their website.

When Covid hit, flights became less dependable. That was about the time we bought our first motor home. Five years later, we are on our second one with no regrets. We have used it for both business and pleasure. In fact, we spent about five weeks on the road this summer travelling to Vermont, Maine and then a week down in Richmond Virginia with our daughter Shelbi and son-in-law Ben.

I spend a great deal of time in it in the fall. Particularly in November. It is my mobile office between sales.

However, there are still times I have to fly to get from one place to another in time. That’s of course, IF the airlines aren’t cancelled or delayed due to countless reasons. In which case, you might get an apology and sometimes a room. Sometimes.

I am now booking my fall flights. And I can tell you flights are significantly higher. So less dependable, more expensive, fuel prices are down, no more free bags from the one stationed out of Love Field….

That is a stellar business model I’d say! More cost—less service—less available flights! Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m not angry or anything. I just want to be friends! But first, I’ll need you to kindly remove your paws out of my retirement account, give me back a few flight options and try to get at least 50% of the current flights to either stay on schedule or not cancel altogether!

And since I already know that none of my destinations fall into the $49 fare range you constantly advertise, would you kindly remove me from your email list?

Thanks for listening.
